NOAH NEWS

It was announced that Katsuhiko Nakajima will be defending the GHC Heavyweight belt against Brian Cage on July 27 at the Korakuen Hall.

Brian Cage went on a tirade by defeating most of the top wrestlers over the course of the months of May and early June. With wins over Go Shiozaki and Takashi Sugiura he has been aligned as the next challenger which will mark Nakajima’s seventh defense of the belt.

President Masayuki Uchida, who was present to make the announcement. He stated that Cage earned the title match after his performances and expects the reigning champion Nakajima to give it his very best against one of the strongest men to ever appear in the NOAH ring.

Though another man is waiting in the wings in Impact Wrestling’s Eddie Edwards who previously made his claim to be the next challenger for the GHC belt. Uchida stated that he knows that Eddie had made the call out for a title shot earlier, but Cage’s first tour was hard to not take notice of his dominant stance. Eddie will though be on tour with NOAH throughout the month of July, and he will have several key singles matches which should put him within reach of the belt if he stands the victor.

Uchida also stated that he is taking Hi69′s (Hiroki) request to officially join NOAH into high consideration. Uchida stated that Ishimori has shown a high interest in bringing in his partner as a full-time wrestler and the NOAH office is currently in discussion accept the offer. They aim to have an answer before the start of the Junior Tag League.

About BushidoRX

I have been following Japanese Pro Wrestling for 20 years now and I have also been doing some form of covering it either in news or results for nearly 15 years as well. I got my start in promotions like AJPW, NJPW, FMW and Michinoku Pro. With All Japan being my go to promotion till this very day. Throughout the years I have followed All Japan more closely than any of the others out there, and thus I have taken it upon myself to keep people informed with what is happening all throughout sport in Japan. If it does not appear on the news feed I either do not follow it closely enough to relate the information or it just not my go to promotion in general. Follow Puroresu Spirit, which is my personal site, as I do my best to keep you all informed with what is happening in the land of the rising sun.
