NJPW NEWS

The full event card was announced for the next LION’S GATE show that is scheduled to take place on July 4 at the Shinjuku FACE.

Following the conclusion of the June 15 show, the full card was announced for the next show with the main event of Yuji Nagata taking on K-DOJO’s Ayato Yoshida. Yoshida claimed the indirect win over Nagata’s team on the last show and immediately went for the claim of a singles challenge against the veteran. Natata never being one to back down from a challenge accepted the match to happen. Both men share a common ground in style, notably with strikes, though with that said Nagata looks to have said that he will not be holding anything back against the super rookie.

Then following his win over Yuma Aoyagi, YOSHI-HASHI received a challenge from another AJPW wrestler in Koji Iwamoto. Iwamoto stood as one of the more underrated talents in the indies scene before signing with All Japan at the beginning of this year, Iwamoto boasts a style that should give YOSHI-HASHI his biggest challenge yet since the start of the LION’S GATE shows.

Satoshi Kojima will be up against Tomoyuki Oka in singles competition. Kojima claimed the win over Oka in the main event of the last show as the rookie made it known that he wanted to face Kojima. Oka cannot take the loss withstanding as he is eager to begin his own breakout among the pack and looks to make that start against the bigger veteran in Kojima.

Dick Togo will be making his return to the New Japan ring for the first time since last appearing in 2011. Dick Togo retired initially retired in 2012 before making his return last year as he felt there was still much for him to do. He will be taking on the young lion Kawato, who looks to continue further growing and awaits the challenge against the pro-wrestling master.

The only tag match on the show will feature the first ever “Bull and Dinosaur” combination. As Hiroyoshi Tenzan will be teaming with Dinosaur Takuma to take on the “Muscle Combination” of Manabu Nakanishi and Katsuya Kitamura.

TAKA Michinoku will be taking on the young lion Tetsuhiro Yagi and a new young lion will be making his debut in Ren Narita. The 19 year old Narita, standing 182cm and weighing 83kg, and was the original trainee who started along with Shota Umino. Though now at a 2 month difference the youngster has some ground to make up in what New Japan is calling a new potential rivalry.

Below is the announced card in full…

About BushidoRX

I have been following Japanese Pro Wrestling for 20 years now and I have also been doing some form of covering it either in news or results for nearly 15 years as well.

I got my start in promotions like AJPW, NJPW, FMW and Michinoku Pro. With All Japan being my go to promotion till this very day.

Throughout the years I have followed All Japan more closely than any of the others out there, and thus I have taken it upon myself to keep people informed with what is happening all throughout sport in Japan. If it does not appear on the news feed I either do not follow it closely enough to relate the information or it just not my go to promotion in general.

Follow Puroresu Spirit, which is my personal site, as I do my best to keep you all informed with what is happening in the land of the rising sun.
