AJPW News Listing for January 12, 2016

Jun Akiyama held a press conference to formally announce that Suwama has suffered an Achilles tendon rupture and will be unable to compete. This means that Suwama will be forced to relinquish the Triple Crown belt in the process. Suwama has underwent surgery and is now in the process of recuperation.

A title decision match has been set for February 12th as the next rightful contender Zeus takes on Kento Miyahara to determine the next champion.

In some more sad news, rookie Keiichi Sato has announced that he will be leaving All Japan, for the time being, due to his own decision as he is dealing with personal issues with his family and such. Nothing more has been said, but it appears All Japan has left the door open for him to return when and if he so chooses.

In other news dealing with the besides scenes aspect of the promotion, Atsushi Aoki has been appointed as the President of Talent Relations as of today and Takao Omori will be taking a position on the Board of Directors. Both will begin their duties in charge of All Japan from this day forward.

The GAORA TV match between Yohei Nakajima and Yuma Aoyagi has been made official for as well for 2/12. This show is also set to begin the “2016 Jr. BATTLE OF GLORY”.

AJPW Event Cards for January & February 2016


Big Japan’s president Eiji Tosaka and All Japan president of talent relations Atsushi Aoki held a press conference to formally announce that the two promotions will be holding the upcoming “D-RIZE” shows together starting on January 18th. Then therein after every other month the two promotions will be alternating who hosts these shows.

These shows are set to focus on the young and up and coming talent of both promotions as they are set to compete against one another.

As of late there has been an increase of BJW competing in an All Japan ring here specifically with both Sekimoto and Okabayashi on the New Year shows earlier this month.

Aoki stated that he is fully committed in trying to expand this new venture especially with All Japan now hosting several talent that could benefit greatly from this kind experience of competing with/against other wrestlers.

Tosaka stated that he is fully in favor of both promotions hosting these shows every month as he hopes a strong showing of synergy can be met and in turn a mutual growth between the two promotions can be seen as well.
